Meet the Provider

Rachel Gulvin, PT, DPT

My name is Rachel Gulvin. I’m a licensed physical therapist who is passionate about working with people with vestibular and specific neurological disorders, particularly concussion and movement disorders. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College in 2013. Over the years, I’ve completed extensive training, continuing education, and worked in several outpatient and hospital-based settings including the world-renowned Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, where I’ve gained invaluable experience working with these populations. In addition to work and continuing education experience, I've also received mentorship on complex case management, Functional Neurological Disorders, Dystonia, movement disorders (like Parkinson's Disease), and concussion from the wonderful team at Re+Active Physical Therapy through their Brain Bytes program, as well as from Natasha Wilch  through the Concussion Nerds program -- and I'm ready to share this experience with you!

I founded Bloom Physical Therapy in 2023 to serve people with vestibular or neurological disorders who are looking to regain function, return to meaningful activities, or rediscover joy in movement.

Bloom Physical Therapy currently offers at-home services to those in the Rochester, NY area and telehealth services throughout New York State.

I can’t wait to work with you!

What sets Bloom Physical Therapy apart?

One-on-One
Attention

At Bloom, all physical therapy sessions are always one-on-one, and usually last for 60 minutes, which can be modified to meet your needs.

You won't be given a cookie cutter program that leaves you feeling worse.

One-on-one care means that your treatment can be individualized to you, and your program can be updated, modified, or progressed when you need.

Expert Care

Your therapist, Dr. Rachel Gulvin, DPT, has years of experience working with vestibular disorders, concussion, and other neurological disorders. She has worked at one of the top neurological rehab hospitals in the world, The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, and has completed extensive training and continuing education in these areas.

Your therapist will also bring specialized vestibular-specific equipment to your appointments, such as infrared video-oculography goggles, to provide the best care possible.

Mobile Therapy

Bloom Physical Therapy offers mobile outpatient physical therapy, which means that we come to you.

You no longer need to worry about driving in inclement weather, driving while dizzy or light-headed, or finding a ride to and from appointments.

Since sessions occur in the comfort of your own home, you also don't need to worry about privacy or busy/ bright/ loud clinics, and treatments can be more functional to better meet your unique goals.

We Won't Leave You Hanging

At Bloom Physical Therapy, we strive to provide you with the knowledge and tools to manage your condition, so that you'll ultimately require less time and money seeking medical care. Your therapist will provide you with a detailed plan and you'll have the ability to ask questions and connect with your therapist in between sessions at no additional cost.
You'll also have access to a home exercise portal to easily track your exercises.
