Balance & Fall Prevention

Bloom Physical Therapy specializes in treatment of balance disorders and fall prevention.

Falls are NOT a normal part of aging. It's possible to improve your strength and balance at ANY age.

Research has shown that 30% of older adults living in the community fall each year. However, this is NOT inevitable. It's possible to improve your strength, your confidence, your balance, and reduce your risk for falls through specific training. Functional strength and balance training is MORE than practicing standing with your feet together or on one leg... it should be functional and relate to everyday life! It should also be specific to you.

 bloom pt can help:

  • If you've been experiencing falls.
  • If you would like to reduce your risk for falls.
  • If you feel unsteady, wobbly, off-balance, or a sense of disequilibrium when walking, transferring, or moving.
  • If you're unable to get on and off the floor by yourself (or can't remember the last time you've done this!)
  • If you find yourself using furniture and walls for stability when walking around your home.
  • If you have a fear of falling.
  • If you've been staying home more often or feel nervous or afraid to go out because of your symptoms.
  • If you'd like to feel more independent and confident with your mobility.
